Silence of the…. Office.

Dearest Bloggy,

Everything is in pure silence now.

Except for the sound of me typing away monotonously on this keypad.

I am mute as of this instant.

I was a rock star yesterday, but the virus has decided to make me inaudible today.

Damn you viruses infecting the sore throat!

And I am the only one in the office.  The executive has gone for the long week leave.

Well, other than being lonely, that means I am on my own with no supervision.

—–Side-track—–

Damn! I have amended the paeds time-table schedule, and internet explorer causes the pc to hang, and I did not save, and I restart, and the document is back to square one, and now I am effing frustrated. Full-stop.

—–End of Side-track—–

Well, I intended to post pics on Hari Raya Haji, but I am so darn lazy coz am so darn lazy. Geddit?

So I guess I will just write up on a lil about the meeting up after soooooooooooooooooooooooooo effing long with the darling girlfriends from poly. I think it is definitely more than half a year since we last met. I swear our uber hectic life and schedules always gets in the way of our plans.

Surprising how all of us did maritime business thing, and only 1/5  is working with the diploma being put in good use. Hahahaha!

Well, maritime, yea, good prospects, and the ka-ching  can even get on par with a general degree. That’s why the richest of us now is still Sarah. Hehehehe… Just that most of us can’t keep still just working in the office.

Yup, even my work gets me to interact with the whole hospital as I plan for events and organise the students stuff. I walk around the hospital alot. But surprisingly, ever since I joined healthcare, I am getting rounder by day. Haiz… The food around is always so tempting lah.  =)

I almost slept through last Saturday afternoon when we are supposed to meet. Was not feeling well since morning, and was so darn tired after doing my pet-stuff shopping at Pet Lovers Centre and sending over my Xmas gift for Innocent at Singpost(yea, no christmas to c’brate together… nvm, CNY is round the corner!).

Gosh, am so happy a pet shop finally open in Westmall. Yes, I am already a member. And somehow they are always so nice to give me freebies everytime I spend a lot. 3 cats and 2 turtles ok… Of coz lots to buy… Hehehe.. I  got a little mouse toy for the cats and 2 free samples of premium biscuits this time round.

Ok ok, back on track, as usual, I was the late one. After much brainstorming, decided to eat at Secret Recipe. Well, I am not really a fan of that place, but as long it’s food, I would’t mind. It was a fun dinner. I got them each a tiny Christmas gift, since I was already doing my Xmas shopping since a few days back.

Happy to see all of them.

Happy to see Suzi especially that she’s taking it very well though her mum has passed on last week, a very strong person indeed. We all decided not to bring the matter up much to her, it may not be the best idea.

After dinner brought us to Daiso, where god knows how long we spent time in there. And our bill in that one place adds up to nearly 100 bucks! Eh, mine only constitutes 10 bucks from that amount ok, so I am not the culprit here. =P

A visit to Pet Safari continues, till it was closing time. And I am still trying to find a place to put my ever-growing turtles that I bought for myself as a self-present last year… Man… They grow… Fast.

Can’t seem to find anything decent yet. Have thought of options like a cat litter box, but I would need like a cover, so they wouldn’t get out. Oh, breathable cover please… I dont want those heavy glass containers, such a hassle to wash, coz I wash them regularly… Something light, low in height, with a covered top(that still got holes for them to breathe), transparent if possible(so they can see the outside world). Any ideas? The father been bugging me to put them at the lake, but hey, I love my turtles ok… I can’t simply let them go into the wild just like that. I can’t bear to think they won’t have enough food, or even a clean place to swim.

And as usual, the “S”-es won’t be at peace if they don’t get into the arcade for some fun. Since poly, till now.

I am not too much a fan of those arcade games, but I must say playing with people who you really can call as friends in those ball or actions games, would never fail to put a smile on me.

In fact, I think being with them on its own already does that. The basketball and “ball-throwing-game-at-the-screen” was really indeed fun and kept us laughing like mad people there.

When it comes to the kinda games that I suck big time I don’t like,  looking at those faces, never fail to make me feel nostalgic when all of us were still students. Hahhahahahaha! Classic.

—————————————————-

On a personal side, it was a huge massive fight with him over the phone last nite. Fine, I know I was the one throwing tantrums and nagging. But hey, a girl gotta win right? But all is well now.. I really do appreciate who I have now. *beams*

And I am one proud woman. He did so well in class and manage to come out FIRST in almost all his modules! No mean feat considering the rather mature classmates of whom are even working as management level. Helping him out in his final nights of studying and researching for answers over MSN does help somehow…

I feel….. SMART. Wahahahahahaha!

Which means, doing his Masters next year is just a matter of time away…

Post-graduate down!

I am quite in awe at him lah, having the chance to do a second degree at a pretty young age of 27, where I am nearly 24 and all I got is a diploma. And he’s even planning for a doctorate by 35. *faints*

Now I feel like a teeeeeny weeeny ant in every angle compared.

But from the start I ever knew him, I always knew he’s a smart ass, which sometimes irritates the hell out of me coz I sometimes dont get to outtalk him. He also presented himself to my friends very well, and is much in contrast to the stereotype that many would have against his ‘kind’.

Cakap lah ape korang nak… Asalkan korang bahagia….

If people wanna judge me, let them. I am the one living my life, not them. I don’t have any reason to prove to anyone. =)

Only stupid thing from him is to choose Malaysia as his Masters venue. Pfffffft. Why? Coz awed by KLCC and nice pics on the internet, and wanting to travel out far to see the world.. Stuuup! Of coz the standards is waaaaaaay under the expectations lah. Now feel cheated. Come to Singapore and see if you can even fare as good… Pfffffft.

I can’t wait for the Chinese New Year long break. Was thinking of even going for like a day to Genting for a day or so in between. Work can get tiring, and to rest the mind and body would be real nice….

And now I am getting darn sleepy…………………… I need to kill the Zzzzzzz monsters scavenging around the office.

Love,
Liza

Updates for 28 Nov – 30 Nov.

Dearest Bloggy,

Miss me? Gah.

I bet you do. Yes, even you those silent readers of this blog. Yes. YOU.=P

Yes, tomorrow is Hari Raya Haji.

Well, let’s just say I didnt prepare nothing for this occasion.

I think I will pass from going to my gramps house even.

You see, my neighbour is gettin engaged tomoro. So it’s like a double tag team work for my household and theirs. And Kak In-in, my part-time helper, is here to help out.

So basically, I am feeling like a lady boss since yesterday. Hey, it’s not everyday you get to slack and rest like this you know…

So, I think I will just pen down whatever has been going around me.

Yes, the Malaysia trip again last weekend.

Which got my ex-colleague, Misss Hartini asking, “Eh you go to Malaysia every weekend to meet your bf is it?”

Not really, Miss Hartini. I am not that free and I am not that free-from-being-tired-working.

So, there it is. The direct confession to all now.

It’s been hard, yes. To walk away from Mr Wale. Too many things happening.

The process and ‘how’ of it all? For me to know. For you all to judge me, if you’re just a sorry ass.

I’ve gone pass caring how people judge me. I guess they’re no perfect humans themselves, to be too free toeven bother whatever is happening in my life.

I know my life. I know whatever I am doing.

Let’s not get too caught up with an emotional blog entry here.

So this is my confession.

Ok, those are old pics. Will show the more updated ones below.

This is where the heart lies now. Mr Innocent Okey.

And I am not joking about the name. That is the freaking real name. Haha!

That Friday had me working half day, and head for the company movie outing in the afternoon with the siblings. We chose Madagascar, of course. I am no inch a James Bond fan.

Other than the yummy snacks before the movie, Ben & Jerry’s ice-cream was also part of the menu. Free flow, yes!

Oh, and Cherry Garcia taste bleurgh. To me, at least.

The story had me a couple of laughs. Enjoyable day out with the siblings, before they send me to the Harbourfront coach bay for me to depart right after the movie.

To Bandar Sunway I went…  Hah!

The meal I had on the coach there was pretty bland, from Al-Ameen it says. I am no fan of Mee Hoon.

Me reaching Sunway Pyramid from the Aeroline coach at 11pm had me cold and shivering from the very heavy rain. Put down the bags, and we went to Kay’s, his good friend’s, birthday party at the house. The head down to De Joint for more partying. I was quite flat out halfway. And just sit down and just watch the others dancing. Hey, I was from work, and then straight from the coach, and had no rest ok. No pics for that event coz it was a dark place and my mobile phone don’t have flash function and I did not bring the digicam.

Next day, went down to Sunway Pyramid for some shopping. A very decent huge place for retail theraphy. But i think the brands there are more expensive than the same brands in Singapore. There’s even an ice rink, but I will try that another time. Too many people on the weekend.

.

And, as some would know, I have this HUGE & MASSIVE craving for American waffles & ice-cream after watching Heroes 3 where Hiro teleport himself to a bowling alley with yummy waffles.

Yes, I had the craving satisfied. Thanks to him.

Eh… No no… Not Akon.

Him.

Ignore our untidy trolley of grocery shopping from Giant, please.

Which made Liza a super happy goober, of course. After the constant whining of the crave for the American Waffles.

Well, it did leave me smiling for the rest of the day. Get an idea of how GOOD it feels to get your craving satisfied.

I think after all this time, this mere 2 days of the weekend really let us spend quality time with each other.

It was hard having to leave after so short a time spent.

Sunday afternoon got us heading to Petaling Jaya’s Menara Axis for my coach home.

Like, ‘thanks’ for making me look uber short here! Pfffft.

Trying out the Aeroline’s single deck which is only like 60 Ringgit. I’d say it’s quite worth the value still I must say. Prompt service and the steward service onboard. Non-stop, unless you ask for it(I’d prefer keep my trip short), in which usually from Singapore to Malaysia, all customers would prefer to go straight on to destination. That’s why I can reach Sunway Pyramid at11pm though my bus departs Harbourfront at 6.30pm.

They’re better than those Konsortium or what not regular old timers. Aeroline’s Double-deck is much better of coz. Just 30 ringgit extra. With  comfy lounge in the first deck is you wanna use. Service is tip top. Ehem, and the Malay STEWARD this time for Aeroline Single Deck Lite is effing cute. *cough*

And this is what they serve for the trip back. Nicer by a bit than the one served from Singapore, but not enough meat. Oh, and the rice. Malaysian rice. You know how much I hated that kinda rice.

But to book Aeroline, especially online, you have to book way earlier. Coz tickets runs uber fast. The timing I want for CNY 2009 holiday is sold out within a few hours they open the trip. No kidding! And theirs a flat rate througout the year. No peak charges. I have manage to secure on Saturday 24 Jan, going back on 1 Feb. And by now, it’s sold out!

Yes, gonna take a 3-day leave after CNY for a uber long week break to spend time in Malaysia!! ;)

So there you have it, my trip update…

Happy Idul Adha to all Muslims for tomorrow…

Love,
Liza

Elation.

Dearest Bloggy,

Ok ok. It’s not TGIF yet.

But I can’t wait for tomorrow to come.

Why?

Well, I would only be working for half a day because of this.

The company’s movie outing!!

And I am bringing the lil siblings along. Though le brother as already watch it. But hey, it’s free… =)

And then right after which, I am happy because of THIS!!!

Location and timings are all so convenient. =)

Oh, and Liza is all alone at work today coz the colleague is on leave. That’s why I can be THIS free.

Not too free though, still got some work to clear up and check with the doctors.

Just that I’m not really in the mood to work… Hehehe… I already feel as if it’s Friday. =)

Liza is an elated girl now, and more elated in hours to come.

Love,
Liza

Swim, Swam, Swum.

Dearest Bloggy,

Weekends always ends so fast, don’t they…?

TGIF for the week was nothing much.

But am happy enough coz Dr Mark Lo gave us some premium chocs.

Never a fan of dark chocolates, so the milk chocolates with caramel are my targets.

Orgasmic lah!

Anyway, Saturday had a (very impromptu) little trip just a few blocks away from home with the sister and the cousin who stayed over the previous day.

To where?

Yup yup, the swimming complex, which is oh-so-conveniently located about 3 blocks away from home. Went in the evening. Well, I am not a big fan of the sun. =)

We went off just before it closes, with almost no one left. Hehe… Just need to put over our clothes before we left as the house is so near, so our post-bath were all done at home.

Sometimes, impromptu outings are exciting. But my body is all aching now.

Well at least, I will be the only one in the office tomoro, after lunch time, as the executive is away for her pregnancy check-up. I can blast the music as much. And talk to myself. Haha.

Oh, before I go, say hello to my Mushroom that is the result of my idle time…..

Mushroom!!

Love,
Liza

Dearest Bloggy,

Obama taking the US Presedential seat has got this lady here so bippity-bop happy!

This is mega huge in the world’s history. The first black President for the US.

Well, I think he’s represents the different world ethnics. Black-White-Asian.

One black parent, one white parent, grew up in Asia.

Hopes he would stop those wars soon enough in Iraq. And clear up the mess the world economy is at now.

These fingers of mine kept refreshing Yahoo page on the Election since 9am till the final verdict was out, just to keep track in between doing my work.

Damn, Barack Obama is so damn effing freaking HOT for his age. Yum yum…. =P

Oh, did I mentioned I am no longer working in NUH since a little before Hari Raya? Fast ,I know.

That place is just going too haywire. The 2 new girls replacing me are quitting too.  One is a month old and the other a week old, and my executive(her last day in NUH is today!!) told me they wanna leave, and one don’t even mind paying back a month’s worth of salary coz her bond with her agency states minimum 2 months’ work. Am glad I made up my mind to move on before my probation even sets.

But am still somehow connected in the healthcare industry. Oh, and I still work in a hospital, not for a hospital though. =)

More details another time lah.

Oh, and I love my working area. My desk cubicle space is pretty darn big…

In the meantime, say hello to my darling ‘Dale’-Ling from my workplace’s computer that cheers my PC (and me!) up all the time.

Love,
Liza

Dearest Bloggy,

I am still awake.

Less than 5 hours to sleep.

Well, let’s sum up what the weekend spells for me.

A night trip to Johor with the family. From about 9 to 3am…

For what? Grocery shopping.

No, you didn’t read it wrong.

Somehow this routine has been going on for a few months now for the family.

We will drive down to Johor for our monthly needs for household items.

Well, only that this is the first time I followed… Along with Kak In-in, our new part-time domestic helper who I’d say is one of the best we’ve had. The one driving us there would be the parents’ old friend, I heard way back in my mum’s teenage years… His car has this cool DVD player that the passengers at the back can watch to idle time away. Helps a lot for those long traffic jams along the causeway.

Bought some DVDs, like “Mirrors“. “Pathology“, “Kung Fu Panda“, etc… Piracy is the bomb when you’re broke. =)

Less talking and more pics now…

Come Saturday, the brother went to Gramps and brought along the lappy and Nintendo DS. Somehow we have been so used to the lappy till the loyal desktop was abandoned for quite a while. The desktop can be pretty laggy, but hey it has been with us since 5 years back.

That leaves his two sisters being darn bored at home. So we went to try our make-up creativity (or should I say, make-up destroyer) on each other’s faces as part of our own entertainment.

I was playing with purple and olive green on my sisters face as canvas, and she doing a ‘bombing‘ blue and brown on me.

All in the name of good fun, and pure boredom.. =P

Not for the faint-hearted. Lo and behold…

Well, you can’t help it when you are bored along with a sister nearby. Hahaha…

Gosh, I think I’d better sleep now. Else, I’ll be late for work tomorrow.

With a parting pic of my cat Titty, on my behalf, I bid all, ADIEU!!

Love,
Liza

Hari Raya w/ Ex-Classmates

Dearest Bloggy,

Saturday Oct 18th marks my second day of the Hari Raya celebrations.

Yeah, sad case, me.

But well, it was due to the fact an ex-classmate, Juli, invited to her open house. Kinda of a last minute thing, and the rest discussed and we’re like “Set, Go!!“.

Just 3 of us getting set out for Juli’s house, namely Miss Noyah, Miss Haniza, and yours truly.

And as usual, the food never disappoints.

Gosh, I love the stuffs Juli’s house always prepare for her yearly open house. With ‘nasi jagung’ to supplement the ’satay goreng’, ’sambal udang’, ‘curry daging’‘, just to name a few, it sure did fill up the lust of gluttony in me.

It’s been so long since we catched up. Still surprising how friends who haven’t kept much in contact with each other for long, can still hold a decent conversation together.

We bid adieu at past 2300hrs, and was also entertained by Haniza’s twin nieces at the carpark.

Such darlings they are, albeit the really apparent difference in personalities.

Just makes me miss a lot of my times being the babygym teacher, constantly surrounded with babies and toddlers. My world is such a happy place around them. Sigh…

Yes, apparently, the same ‘baju kurung’ you see from what I used for the first day. I told you I’m a sucker for having too little traditional clothings. God knows where my previous year’s clothings are. I knew I tucked them up somewhere in one of the luggages for storage, but I couldn’t be bothered enough to rummage through it for a mere few hours of usage. Pffffft.

Sometimes, simple times, with simple friends, can make a girl a happy one.

Love,
Liza

Back from KL

Dearest Bloggy,

8th Oct to 14th Oct.

The KL trip.

Let’s jot down some round-ups that I will like to share.

Many other I will still just keep it at a personal level. Ehem……….

1) Malaysia’s public train is frreeeeeaky.

2) Night life in KL is way better than Singapore, so many shops and eateries still open in the wee hours of the night.

3) Aeroline coach service is AWESOME. Best coach service ever. Highest recommendation and value for money. Even Konsortium’s Snoozer I went there with, with the personal movie player and was on 50% discount, holds nothing to Aeroline. Airline food during journey, such convenient pick-up/drop-off points, uber comfy seats, comes with a cushion, individual powerpoints for your personal gadgets recharge, well-dressed staffs, awesome stewardess, smooth-going coach ride, and the lists goes on… Da bomb. Period.

4) I swear I need to kill the taxi drivers in Malaysia. The American friends and us for a ride to Petaling Jaya from Bandar Sunway, giving us a price of RM$50 , but we took it anyway coz the sun was scorching hot and pressed for time. Just because they re f**king ‘ang moh‘ gives u the right to cheat us so many times over?! And then we got a nice taxi driver staying in the same condo who uses the meter (1 in a million in Malaysia, really….) for us to go back home, and it’s less than RM$10!! Small wonder why they are named the worst taxi drivers of the world…

5) I miss my god-damn flight on the 13th coz Tiger Airways instructions are f**king unclear.

6) Tiger Airways International Customer Service Hotline sucks BIG TIME. No one picks up the call , and I even burn RM$10 just to call them for naught. Last time ever gonna use their service, JetStar is waaaaay better for a budget airline.

7) I hate Malaysian rice. I love their Ramly burgers and maggi goreng by the roadside.

8) And amidst everything, good and worst, someone proves his worth.

Love,
Liza

Eid Mubarak

Dearest Bloggy,

So the moulds, fungi and cobwebs are already filling up this blog.

Well, at least mushrooms are still nutritious, is it not? =P

So much things happening since the last entry.

Mum in hospital for m birthday, the time when I finally braved myself to make my decision, jobs, etc…
But hey, I’m still here. I’m still the Liza you all know. I hope. =)

Hari Raya pass and go. Well, somehow I’ve lost the feel of Hari Raya, the only time I even celebrate it is also only on the first day.

Well, am not a HUUUUGE fan of donning the baju kurung. It’s so hot, I mean, like literally.

No no, not in a weather like Singapore, hot and humid.

But somehow it does feel good to wear it, albeit those few times a year.

Well, many would go to the extend of costly custom-made glamour for these special occasions. Just not me, I guess. Been a few years and it’s just ‘off-the-rack’ cases for me, though one of the setback is always not a perfect cut like those when you specially had measurements for.

I even have material since last few years, sitting and collecting dust in the cupboard. Let’s hope I will get something made from that in the next few years.

This year’s hari raya been ok. Normal I guess. The only thing I look forward to is the food. Darn, these are the times that all should go EAT and don’t care whether you get fatter. Hahahaha..

I just find it ironic that sometimes this period is the only time families get together. Just…… hypocritical.

I mean, a whole year of not even bothering about another’s life, then you meet and ask for forgiveness and blah blah blah. How much have you sinned if you dont even come in contact much?

But of course, asking for forgiveness from parents, yeah, I guess the remorse feelings is great. Feeling so vulnerable and full of compassion with the ‘takbir‘ in the air. Somehow, you just open up to realise what you have done and ponder.

Well, let’s be entertained by some pictures shall we….

Fake ‘em lashes, baby!!

Yeah, somehow after a whole day of Hari Raya, you do get all sweaty and tired and the bed seems to be your major attraction.

Anyway, am heading to KL till the end of the week, at 9am tomorrow. A break for myself… Not a holiday ok, a short break, again.  Hehe.. =)

So to all again, Eid Mubarak!

Love,
Liza
